Adobe fonts updated with improved vertical metrics and rendering
Adobe’s collection of classic typefaces on Typekit has been updated once again, with further improvements to vertical metrics and TrueType hinting. Republish your kits to receive the latest and greatest versions of Adobe Text Pro, Adobe Garamond Pro, Bickham Script Pro, Caflisch Script Pro, Chaparral Pro, Cooper Black Std, Cronos Pro, Hypatia Sans Pro, Minion Pro, Myriad Pro, News Gothic Std, and Poplar Std.

This has me thinking whether one day all fonts could be hosted (something like FontExplorer X Server, where the server is Typekit). Imagine, if all fonts (not simply those for the web) were updated in this way.

Awesome news! I’m working on a project right now that is 100% covered in Myriad and Minion.
Myriad is very good, especially if you compare it with Myriad converted to web font from non-web Myriad version. You can see work on optimizing it was done.
Still it still looks washed out in Windows XP with ClearType off, which is roughly 30-40% computers on the market. Could it be improved?
