ARS Type partners with Typekit

Please join us in welcoming to ARS Type to Typekit! Just like our partnerships with FontFont and Process Type Foundry, you’ll be able to augment your Typekit library subscription with ARS Type fonts — starting with ARS Maquette.

Top to bottom: ARS Maquette Web Black, Regular, Medium Italic, Bold

ARS Maquette, a pragmatic geohumanist sans, is available in five weights, each with a matching italic. The ARS Type site has a nice overview of the design’s reasoning and gradual refinement.

License ARS Maquette from ARS Type, and host it on Typekit with any of our plans (including our free plan). Here’s how it works. Just follow a link to Typekit once you’ve completed your purchase at the ARS Type website. Your new fonts will be instantly transferred to your Typekit account, and linked through the simple line of code you’ve already added to your site.

Fonts licensed elsewhere and hosted on Typekit will automatically work in every browser that supports @font-face, including those that don’t support WOFF or EOT. Plus, you can look forward to seamless upgrades in the future, whenever your fonts are updated and as web browsers evolve.

  1. I was all tingly and excited about this – I love Ars Maqueete. So I was a bit disappointed, as I thought it meant the typeface was available to all typekit users.

If someone purchases Ars Maquette specifically to use on their website do they get a refund if it turns out there are rendering issues on certain browsers etc.?

Just to be clear, ARS Maquette is available to all Typekit users — it just needs to be licensed over at ARS Type first.

To the best of my knowledge, ARS Maquette has been thoroughly prepared for web use. You can visit this page using different browser/OS combinations to see for yourself how the font looks in each context.

I wanted to use this font, and went to the ARS website. As I understand to license this font I have to purchase the license from ARS then I can use it with Typekit.
Has I’ve paid to have the portfolio plan I was disappointed to find I have to purchase this license, guess I will just find another font in the typekit collection.
