Robothon 2012 talks
The Robothon conference in The Hague is always an exceptional event, bringing together designers and developers interested in the technical aspects of type design. While it is a great opportunity to meet people and exchange ideas, it is also a place to hear about the latest developments in type technology. This year, many presentations focused on hinting, two of which were presented by members of the Adobe Type Team.
Miguel was talking about what is happening “behind the scenes” when PostScript hints are applied; I was presenting our own TrueType hinting workflow, with some recent insights into speeding up the whole process.
All the presentations have been recorded, and are now publicly accessible.
For the sake of completeness, we would like to offer the slides to our presentations for download here:
Miguel Sousa – PostScript Hints
Frank Grießhammer – How to make TrueType hinting less boring
We would like to express our thanks to the organizers Erik van Blokland, Paul van der Laan and Tal Leming, and of course to the Type and Media students, who made this conference a very pleasant experience.
