June and July with Type@Cooper West
San Francisco type lovers won’t want to miss the next installment of Type@Cooper West lectures kicking off on June 12.
Jeremy Mickel launches the summer talks with “Owning It: Type Design and Intellectual Property” next Tuesday, June 12 from 6–7:30 p.m.
The series also includes:
- “Typographic Testing Grounds: Job Printing, Small-scale Web Projects, and Innovative Typeface Design” with Nick Sherman on July 10
- “Everything’s in Progress: Redefining the Way Type Design is Released” with Lizy Gershenzon on July 17
- “Type in Film” with Louise Sandhaus on July 31.

Type@Cooper West Workshops
In addition to the lecture series, Type@Cooper West will again host weekend workshops for those who want to further expand upon their typographic skills. This summer’s offerings include:
- June 23-24: Erik vs James with Erik Marinovich and James Edmondson
- June 30-July 1: Font Production for Typeface Families with Frank Grießhammer
- July 14-15: Responsive Web Typography with Marko Dugonjić
Students looking for a deeper dive can register for Micro & Macro Typography with Tânia Raposo taking place Wednesday evenings June 20 through August 1.
