Sleepless in Seattle? Visit us at TypeCon2016
It’s that time of year again! The Typekit team is packing our favorite flannel and getting ready to head to the beautiful Pacific Northwest next week for TypeCon2016: Resound.
We’re pleased to be a Masthead sponsor of the conference this year and as Sally mentioned recently, she and Frank will both give talks. Here’s a breakdown of where to find us during the week:
Thursday, August 25
We’re hosting the speaker reception at Pike Place Market, a Seattle location with some pretty iconic typography, before Lance Wyman’s keynote. If you’re presenting, we look forward to seeing you there!
Friday, August 26
The SOTA Spacebar makes its debut this year and we’ll be supporting the fun. The TypeCon folks describe it as “a game, wrapped in a conversation, finished with a selfie,” so our curiosity is certainly piqued. Everyone who completes the challenges will get a Typekit KeepCup and one lucky winner will join the Typekit team for lunch on Saturday.
Additionally, Briar Levit screens a rough cut of her documentary, Graphic Means (another project we’re happy to support), on Friday evening.
Saturday, August 27
Sally Kerrigan presents “When Words Matter: Writing About Type” at 10:25 a.m., just after the coffee break.
Later that night, have a cocktail on Typekit while you enjoy the annual Infamous Type Quiz & Silent Auction. We’ve added a couple of fun prizes to the pile, including a Creative Cloud Subscription and two framed Adobe Originals 25th Anniversary posters.
Sunday, August 28
Wake up early to hear Frank Grießhammer co-present “ITC Zapf Dingbats” with Nick Sherman at 8:35 a.m.
Of course, most of our team will be attending all the sessions and events throughout the week, so look for us and say hello. We’ll also be bringing a couple of boxes up of our shiny new Scout Books along with us.

Don’t fear the weather. The normally drizzly Seattle weather goes away in July and August. Expect sunny days that are warm rather than sweltering like most of the rest of the country.
As Mark Twain put it, “Seattle summers are the mildest winters I’ve ever experienced.”
Good luck guys! The world is changing so the weather! keep up
