Type Camp spring workshops at Adobe in San Francisco

We’ll be the proud hosts at Adobe’s San Francisco office for three more sessions of Type Camp this spring. The camps cover a huge range of typographic topics — each class is a totally different experience, even when the instructors are the same.

If you’re in the Bay Area, it’s a great way to spend a Friday sharpening your typography and lettering skills. Registration for each class is open on the Type Camp website — see the class-specific links below. Hope to see you there!

April 8: Modern Lettering

If you don’t already do a double-take when you notice lettering in use in your daily life, you will after a day learning from Xandra Zamora and Shelley Gruendler about the various styles in use all around us — and how to make the shapes yourself. Registration is open now until the end of March — claim your seat soon!

May 6: Blackletter

Shelley and Xandra return in May and turn to dramatic Blackletter script. Learn the techniques behind this charismatic lettering style, and master its trademark shapes with the parallel pen. Early-bird rates apply if you register by April 1.

June 3: Typographic Details

If you work with type on a regular basis — and especially if you use InDesign to set it — Shelley’s teaming up with Tiffany Wardle for a fundamental and essential class covering all the typographic details that make great designers stand out. Register here by May 1 to catch the early-bird rate.
