What you’re probably unhappy with in this case is Museo Slab’s rendering in Windows GDI with ClearType font smoothing. IE7/8 include preferences that opt for this kind of rendering.

But when it comes to the larger sizes for headlines (Museo Slab as an example) in IE7 & 8, usually that is where I see some significant short comings. Usually these fonts look fine in IE6, FF 3.5 and Safari.
